The Castle Paws and Taws is an American Western Square Dance club. It is located in the Beautiful hills of West Central Pennsylvania near the Ohio border in historic New Castle. We are just an hour North West of Pittsburgh.
We dance year round every Wednesday night except for holiday weeks (see menu for links to schedules). In the summer time we dance in the Cascade Park Pavilion. This building was built over 108 years ago for dancing. It has high ceilings with wood lattice work. It has a linoleum covered wood floor. We dance here from May through October. Since it has no heat we move to the Lawrence County Vo-Tech School cafeteria which is less than 3/4 mile from the pavilion. We dance here from November through April
We dance Plus level every week, except for student dances which alternate between Plus and student level dancing. We have Cuers for almost all dances unless indicated otherwise on our schedule. We are a traditional club and request dancers to dress in traditional Square Dance attire year round.
